Friends, thank you so much for your support. Here’s your one-stop place to find Friend of the Festival benefit details.
First of all, your pass gets you free admission for one to most festival events, including our kickoff Silent Reading at the Imbibrary at Good Robot Brewing Company on Wednesday, October 2. Here’s a link to our full program.
Your pass also gets you admission to our exclusive Friends of the Festival celebration on Friday, October 4 at Cafe Lara, 9:30pm. We invite you to join us at Cafe Lara after our Friday night programming at the Portia White Auditorium for The Munrovians. Festival authors and others will gather on stage to read aloud from a short story by Alice Munro and discuss the finer points of Munro’s particular genius. The bar at Cafe Lara will be open, and you’ll have a chance to mingle with festival authors and other supporters and Friends.
Your pass also gets you an AfterWords book bag filled with treats from some of our sponsors. You can pick up your book bag—and your pass—at any of our festival events, starting with Silent Reading at the Imbibrary.
Your pass also gets you into our Bookish Brunch at a special rate—you’ll pay $25 instead of $40 to attend our Sunday morning event featuring Mona Awad and Gwen Benaway reading from their work, and a delicious brunch provided by Agricola Street Brasserie. Get your special Friend of the Festival brunch ticket here.
Festival workshops are not included in your Friend pass—most of our workshops are free and open to the public. You can register here—but hurry, spots are going fast! Caroline Adderson is offering a professional development workshop for writers, and the registration fee is $30.
We’re grateful for your support, and we can’t wait to see you at the festival!
